PHILADELPHIA, OCT. 9, 2009 — State Sen. Anthony Williams invites the community to join him on his first “Taste of the 8th” dining event.

Diners are invited to join the senator as he ventures to local restaurants through the 8th Senate District. The first outing will take place on Monday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gold Standard Café, 4800 Baltimore Ave. in Philadelphia.

“This is a great way to enjoy a night out, meet your neighbors, sample something new and support local businesses,” Williams said. “It’s also a chance to celebrate the numerous diverse restaurants in our community. I’m looking forward to meeting fellow diners at the Gold Standard Café.”

Participants will get to try free samples of signature dishes.
